A new family moved in next door. They had a dog called Rex.
Rex was big and brown. His bark was as loud as thunder.
Every time Lily walked past the fence, Rex barked.
Every time, Lily stopped. Her hands went as cold as ice. Her feet forgot how to move.
Soon she stopped using the front path. She went the long way, past the bins.
It took ten extra minutes. It smelled bad by the bins. But Lily did not care.
