"Why do you go that way?" asked Dad.
"No reason," said Lily.
But Dad had seen her jump.
On Saturday, he walked with her to the fence.
"Just stand here," he said. "You do not have to touch him."
Rex ran up. He barked and barked. Lily's legs shook like leaves on a tree.
But she stood still. Dad held her hand. He did not let go.
After one minute, Rex stopped barking. He sat down and wagged his tail.
